Bathroom Renovation Tips

March 9th, 2010

Things to consider when doing a bathroom renovation.

Plumbing

Your plumber can alter existing fixtures; ensure waterproofing and install new drains, showers, baths, spas and fittings.

Provide your plumber with a detailed floorplan noting the exact positioning of existing pipes, drains, fittings and water heating units; the composition of walls and floors; and the dimensions of wall/floor cavities.

Discuss eco-friendly fittings and systems such as grey-water recycling, rainwater tanks, composting toilets and water-saving showerheads with your local brisbane plumber

Decide whether you’ll be installing a new bath/shower/spa as part of your bathroom renovation or using the existing one (and if so, whether you’ll be sending it out for resurfacing or resurfacing in situ).

The Gap Bathroom Renovation

February 7th, 2010

Bathroom renovations are a great way to add value to your home.  This renovation at The Gap entailed removing all old fixtures and capping off, removing tiles for the tiler and re-sheeting, running new water and then reinstalling fixtures.

With the Bath to the left, Floating Vanity in the centre and semi-frameless Shower cubicle to right it is an effective use of space with a modern finish.  Using the same tile for the floor and walls also creates an illusion of space with a feature tile used on the floor and wall to provide definition.
